This experience begins with a visit to Maalum Cave in Paje, a natural limestone cave filled with crystal-clear turquoise water where visitors can swim in a peaceful lagoon. Surrounded by tropical vegetation, the area is also home to local monkeys and colourful birdlife, making it a unique and tranquil place to explore.
The journey continues to the famous Rock Restaurant, one of Zanzibar’s most iconic dining locations set on a rock in the Indian Ocean. Depending on the tide, guests can either walk across the sand at low tide or take a small boat to the restaurant when the water is higher.
In the evening, relax on the beautiful Michamvi Peninsula and enjoy sunset at Kae Funk Beach Bar, one of the island’s best sunset spots. Michamvi is one of the few places on Zanzibar’s east coast where you can watch the sun set over the ocean, as the peninsula faces Chwaka Bay rather than the open Indian Ocean.
After sunset, guests can return to their hotel or choose to stay overnight in Michamvi and explore more of Zanzibar’s east coast the following day.
